Welcome To The BJC British Judo Foundation

The principal aim of the BJC British Judo Foundation is to access and generate funding to support and develop community participation in grassroots Judo in the UK.

The Foundation's stategic priorities are to:

Priorities for 2011-2012 will be to:

  1. Complete the establishment of the Foundation, including registration as a Charity and launch of the website. This has now been achieved.

  2. Investigate the potential of funding from a range of organisations, sporting bodies, commercial partners, grant making charities and individuals in the form of grants and/or bequests; prepare, and initiate, a fund raising strategy

  3. Develop, and publish, criteria for making grants, and assessing applications. These will be published at the Reception and Launch on 22nd September 2011.

  4. Promote the Foundation through the various organs of the BJC and wider media.

  5. Seek an individual(s) who can complement and promote the aims and objectives of the Foundation, and is willing to serve as its Patron. This has now been achieved.

As the Foundation develops over time its main focus will be as described above but it may widen its scope as circumstances and opportunities expand.

History

The Foundation is an independent charity established by the BJC. Its purpose is to promote community participation in Judo throughout the United Kingdom.

The BJC is an organisation that has been promoting judo in the UK since 1958. Further information about the BJC can be found here
